Defining your audience with SendGrid Ads is a three step process:

  1. Select your channels.
  2. Select when your ads will be sent.
  3. Select who you want to show your ads to.

Remember, you can have more than one campaign running at the same time! Don’t limit yourself to communicating with your customers in only one part of their journey.

Channels

Select which channel(s) you would like to advertise on. You can choose to advertise on Facebook, Instagram, or both.

Schedule

Select when you would like your ads to run. You can run your over a finite amount of time, or indefinitely.

Audience characteristics

This is where the real fun begins!

You can select who will see your ads based on two email-related characteristics:

  1. Email activity
  2. Email list

Email activity

You can select which users will see your ads based on their interaction with any of your emails.

This is particularly powerful to set up a series of potential interactions with your customers based on how they respond to your various communications.

For example, you can select your customers who didn’t open a recent email. Or, you can select your customers who opened an email, but didn’t click through.

Email list

You can select people from any of your SendGrid Marketing Campaigns contacts.

This is a great option if you want to communicate with an entire, pre-defined list. You can create these lists at any time to find the specific people you’d like to advertise to.
